The hand holds are removed.  Then the cayuco is
shaped inside and out.  The hull is also trued and
shaped to glide straight and true through the sea.
The cayuco is split with a chainsaw.  Then the split
is widened with wedges.  The first long block is
shaped from the same kind of tree to fit in to the
split.  The final fit is made with a hand saw.
The long blocks are expertly fit and joints are sealed
with epoxy.  Another large seibo bock is fit into the aft of
the cayuco.
Curved extension blocks were cut with a chainsaw.
They will dry until they are fitted onto the bow.
